Florencio was born September 15, 1926, in Marlin, Texas, to the late, Manuel and Petra Davila. Florencio proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II from 1945 to 1946. On January 1, 1949, he married the love of his life, Mary Rosas, and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. A proud community member, Florencio, was one of the founding members of L.U.L.A.C. in Marlin. He retired from Gifford-Hill after many dedicated years as a truck driver and was a faithful member of Faith Walk Church. His military service in World War II was recognized and honored by numerous local, state, and national elected officials.

Florencio was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Davila Sr. and Petra Lopez; his stepfather, Santiago Lopez; siblings, Manuel Davila Jr., Lydia Cruz, Nancy Martinez, and Teresa Martinez; his beloved wife, Mary Davila; and his daughter-in-law, Yolanda Cuevas.

He is survived by his sons, Rev. Irie Cuevas and Robert Davila, and Robert's wife, Rachel. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Irie Cuevas and wife, Sarai, Sonya Guerrero and husband, Olan, Israel Cuevas and wife, Stephanie, Desiree Davila, Robert Davila, Jr., Aaron Davila, Joseph Davila, Mia Davila, and Dylan Davila. Florencio's legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Alyssa Vasquez and husband, Cody, Olan Guerrero, Jr. and wife, Ruby, Ma'Ryah Monrial and husband, Julian, Kamryn Cuevas, Ethan Cuevas, Evan Cuevas, and Olivia Gonzalez; his great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Vasquez, Myla Vasquez, Olan Guerrero III, Scarlett Guerrero, and Julian Matthew Monrial. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.

Florencio's life was marked by love, faith, service, and devotion to his family and country. His favorite quote, from General Douglas MacArthur, captures the spirit of his humble strength: "Old soldiers never die; they just fade away."
