Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at the Decatur Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Saturday June 23rd with Dr. Todd Speed officiating. A gathering of friends will follow at Decatur Presbyterian Church in the parlor. The family will greet friends at the American Legion in Avondale from 4:30-6:30PM on Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may send memorial gifts to the American Legion post #66 in Avondale Estates. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory

So sorry to hear about George. He always had a good story to share, or the patience to listen if somebody needed to talk. He was such a sweet man, and touched more hearts than he ever realized. What a blessing that one of them was mine.

George Carter was a mentor to many - I for one was an avid learner in his company, for fixing things was what he was all about. A wonderful man who worked hard to make Emory University what it is today. He will be missed.
