Jafus Cavil Obituary
Jafus is preceded in death by his sisters, Oressa Rector, Ida James Baker, Irene Griffin, Ruth Harmon and brother, William Paul Cavil. He is survived by his wife, Florence, and his children: Jafus (Chris) Cavil Jr., Arletha Mernet Guerrero (Michael) Cash, Michael (Adela) Cavil, Marcus (Michele) Cavil, 10 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grand-Children and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Grant Worship Center, 1701 Kramer Lane, Austin. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

To Jafis "Chipper" Jr and family I am saddened to learn of your loss. Your dad had been a friend of my parents at PVAMU and early in his professional life. As a child with a great interest in science and later as one of his students at Carver
High School I still remember the excitement for learning he instilled in me. I pray for your peace during this time of loss and sadness.

Our sincere condolences to the Cavil family. I can still remember playing little league baseball for the team he sponsored at the Catholic church on Dallas St. He would always after the games give us soda or ice cream whether we won or lost. My prayers are with you at this time may God bless and comfort you is my prayer.

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Cavil's passing. He was one of my high school teachers and encouraged me to attend Prairie View. Florence was one of my mentors and role models, and Jafus Jr. was one of my school mates. May your wonderful memories bring you joy and comfort, and may our Lord Jesus give you strength and peace in the days ahead. Sending prayers and hugs!
