Perry Allen Obituary

Perry "Jack" Allen, 83, passed away May 11, 2011, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Private services were held May 24 at Messinger Indian School Mortuary in Scottsdale.

Mr. Allen was born in Waco, Texas, the son of Perry Jack and Winifred Rutland Allen. Jack attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Mo., and left to join the 80th US Military Marine Corps in 1945. He remained a proud Marine the remainder of his life! Jack was a business partner with Allen & Schramm, an oil equipment business firm located in Denver, Colo.

He was also an avid golfer all his life with a wide circle of business and golfing friends both in Arizona and Colorado. He was also a proud son of Texas! Jack graduated in 1949 from SMU in Dallas.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and loving sister, Betty Goddard Allen.

He is survived by his wife, former State Senator Carolyn Allen, resident of Scottsdale for 30 years; son, Perry Jack Allen Jr.; grandchildren, Jessica, George, Georgie and Harlie Glover, and Alica and Cerene Piz; nephews, Taylor and Tyler Boon; and nieces, Susie Boon, Betsy Smith and Rachel and Garrett Smith.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 2707 E. Van Buren St. Bldg 100, Phoenix, AZ 85008, or the Arizona Community Foundation that has been established in the Carolyn Allen Fund, 2201 E. Camelback Rd., Suite 202, Phoenix, AZ 85016 or call 602-381-1400.
