Sonia Banda, 86, of Waco, passed away at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church With Father Benji as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, December 12, with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Banda was born in Laredo, Texas, to Horacio and Dorotea (Santos) Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Anthony (Tony) Garcia. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Juan Banda; daughter, Maria Hernandez; sons, Ruben Banda and wife, Rosa, Ricardo Banda and Juan A. Banda and wife, Marylou; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
