Dear Nita,

My wife, Sarah DeWiit Thomsen, and I regret reading of Walter's passing. He was Sarah's classmate from the first grade all the way through High School. I joined them there, having attended Provident Heights and West Junior.

Walter was a delightful and entertaining person and chose a wonderful vocation to follow. We are fortunate to have known him.

Dear Nita, Brian and family,
You are in my thoughts and prayers as I am saddened to hear of your loss. We have so many good memories of Walter
I remember how sweet he was
when he told us that he was getting
married to an amazing, beautiful girl named Nita We couldn't wait to meet you and add you to our family of friends.
Our boys were fortunate to be in Mountainview when Walter was principal and loved his teasing them all the years afterward.
Walter was special and we will cherish all the memories of many years of friendship.
I regret that I will be unable to attend the services. Take care of yourself.

I was at Mountainview in 1969 and in the 1st grade. I remember Mr. Steinman's white mustang. I didn't know principals could be "cool". Mr. Steinman was a great influence in my life. I've never forgotten him all these years. My deepest sympathies to your family. Remember, death isn't the end-only an interruption.(Is.33:24)

To the Steinmann Famly ---

I want you to know that a Teacher from "way back when" also has good memories of a very nice and talented man. As I began my teaching career at Dean Highland School, Walter became the first male elementary Teacher in WISD, and he proved to be a talented and dedicated member of his Faculty. As the trend in WISD changed from female elementary Principals to male Principals, he aso became an outstanding Principal and leader in the Waco schools.

May your memories of his dedication to young people, and his successes in his chosen career help to soften the sorrow of his loss ----

I have not seen Mr. Steinmann since I was in his class in 4th grade.

I remember that back then there were not many male teachers & we didn't know what to expect. It didn't take long, however, for him to be one of my all-time favorite teachers. He was a great teacher & had a great sense of humor.

I just want to let his family know that someone from "way back when" has many fond memories of a very, very nice man.
