Willis L. "Mac" McMahan, 92, of Waco, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Waco, Texas.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 3, at Lake Shore Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., May 2, at the funeral home.
Mac was born November 24, 1928, in Ft. Worth, Texas, the son of Willis C. and Mary (Cleveland) McMahan. He attended Texas A&M University until he was drafted into the United States Army and later graduated from North Texas State University. On August 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Hensley. Liz preceded him in death on July 13, 2009.
Mac was a member of Central Presbyterian Church where he was an active member of the choir.
He worked 32 ½ years for International Harvester Credit Corporation. He enjoyed watching Aggie football and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nancy Farmer and Shirley Vendermeer; and a grandson, Jon Cody McMahan.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Heese and husband, Martin, of Waco; son, Hank McMahan of Abilene; grandchildren, Jamie Karl and husband, Dylan of Gholson, Dillon McMahan and husband, Dustin Cole, of Houston, and Kaylee McMahan of Cleveland Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Rhyder and Adalynn Karl; special friend, Martha Ginsburg; and many other friends and family.
A special thanks to Ascension at Home-Health, Visiting Angels and St. Anthony's Care Center and Compasses Hospice for all their loving care the last few months.
