Donald Lynn Meduna
February 24, 1949 - April 13, 2025
Donald Lynn Meduna, age 76, of Colon, NE, entered into eternal rest on Sunday April 13, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha surrounded by his family.
Don was born on February 24, 1949, in Omaha, NE, to Rudy and Darlene (Bahm) Meduna of Weston. At a young age Don began farming with his dad Rudy near Colon. Don attended District #75 school through eighth grade and then continued his education in Wahoo and graduated from Wahoo High School in 1967. Don attended one year of college at UNL and then followed in his father's footsteps taking on the farming business. While in high school Don met the love of his life Kim (Bullock). They were united in marriage on July 25, 1970 at Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
Don belonged to Saint Joseph's Church in Colon, was a former member of the Colon Fire Department, a member of the 4-H Club Colon Hustlers, and he belonged to the Saunders County Feeders Association for more than 50 years. He also enjoyed all Nebraska Cornhusker sports by being a lifelong season ticket holder for football, basketball, and baseball. As his family grew, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, music concerts, and cattle shows.
Don is survived by his wife, Kim; along with his three children, Greg (Tammy) Meduna of Colon, Tim (Tina) Meduna of Lincoln, NE, and Soni (Jeff) Albertson of Omaha. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Alex (Sarah) Meduna, Haley Meduna, Lance Meduna, Marissa Meduna, Lauren Meduna, Chase Meduna, Jacoby Navarro, Cael Navarro; and great-granddaughter, Olivia Meduna. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Carol) Meduna of Colon; sister, Linda Meduna of Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Darlene Meduna.
The funeral was be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 111 Cherry St., Colon, with a reception after at the Parish Hall. A Visitation was held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Colon, from 5 to 7 p.m., with the Rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
