Edward M. Keel, Jr. 75 of Kearney passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
Ed was born June 9, 1950 in Lincoln, NE to Edward and Lorna (Graham) Keel. He attended Norris District #160 and IBEW trade school. In 1971, Ed was united in marriage to Reva Vermeline in Wahoo, NE. This union was blessed with 2 sons, Jesse and Jacob. Ed was a master electrician employed through IBEW and later at NPPD, retiring in 2015.
Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and being outdoors. He also loved blue grass and Irish music and playing the guitar.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Reva Keel of Kearney; sons, Jesse (Erica) Keel of Sulphur Springs, TX and Jacob (Angie) Keel of Spanish Fork, UT; sister, Susie (Terry) Elliott of Beatrice; former sister-in-law, Diane (Curt) Schnase of Lincoln; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, and his brother, Tom Keel. He will be greatly missed.
