Frank Furasek Obituary

TOUHY – Frank E. Furasek, 88, of Touhy, died March 31 at his home.
Furasek was born on Dec. 4, 1923 to Frank J. and Victoria (Bartek) Furasek in Rural Weston. He attended District School 74 near Weston. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He lived and farmed his entire life in the Touhy area.
He married Marcella Matulka on June 28, 1948 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight.
He was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church, a life time member of the American Legion 371 and VFW 10491 in Valparaiso. He loved watching his grandkids play sports. He also enjoyed his time with the Legion and attending various activities like walking in the parade.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Kerry Meyer of Touhy; a son, Steve Furasek of Lincoln; grandchildren, Miranda Furasek, Andrew Furasek, Zac Smith, Cameron Smith; great granddaughter, Alzalea Marie Furasek; sisters, Regina Tomsicek of Plasi and Lillian Tomcak of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday April 4 at St. Vitus Catholic Church in Touhy with Rev. Christopher Goodwin officiating.
Interment will be in St. Vitus Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion 371 and VFW 10491.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. at at Svoboda Funeral Home and continuing after 6 p.m. at the church with a rosary at 7 p.m. Also, one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday
Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo is in charge of the arrangements.
