Josephine M. Hrdlicka

1926 - 2012

WAHOO – Josephine M. Hrdlicka, 86, of Wahoo, died on Feb. 23 at her home.
Hrdlicka was born Jan. 6, 1926 to Henry and Emma (Fujan) Kadavy on a farm near Weston. She grew up in the area and went to school in Weston.
On Apr. 27, 1946, she married Joseph E. Hrdlicka at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston. They lived in Auburn for nine months and then moved to Colon. In August of 1955, they moved to their farm southwest of Wahoo where she lived the rest of her life. She was a housewife and mother. After the children were all in school, she began working at Campbell Soup Company in Fremont. She worked there for 20 years retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and of the St. Ludmilla Guild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Joseph P. Hrdlicka; and daughter, Patricia Staton Twaddle.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and George Gervase, Inez and Dennis Basich, all of Omaha, Donna and Bobby Fraiche, Metarie, La. and son-in-law, Bob Twaddle of Dallas, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Jeanine Hrdlicka of Wahoo, Ivan Hrdlicka of Austin, Texas and Trudy Hrdlicka of Mead; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo with Rev. Charles Townsend officiating. Interment will be at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery.
Casket bearers are Ryan Hrdlicka, Joseph Gervase, George Gervase, Jeramy Staton, Zachariah Basich, Travis Backlund, Adam Fischer and Victor Peterson.
Visitation will be held Sunday, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a rosary/scripture service at 7 p.m. at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo.
Memorials may be made to St. Wenceslaus Church.
