Rene Lynn Schmit, 68, of Spring Hill, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday February 26, 2025. Born on August 23, 1956, in Bellevue, Nebraska, to Donald and Marlene (Albertson) Hunter, she grew up as a proud military child, living on various military bases and in Cresco, Iowa.
Rene was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Marlene and her husband Ralph in 2020. She is survived by her children Ryan (Alicia) Hanson, Fremont, Nebraska and Leah (Ryan) Hammond, Spring Hill, Kansas; siblings: Stephanie Barthelme, Cresco, Iowa, Christy Robbins, Lincoln, Nebraska, Scott (Linda) Hunter, Bartlett, Tennessee, Valerie (Jim) Rink, Cresco, Iowa, Candace Haley, Taylor, Michigan, Denise (Mark) Kissinger, Cresco, Iowa and Kelly (Roy) Garza, Houston, Texas and grandchildren: Summer, Elliot, Kennedy, Elijah, Caleb, Abigail and Benjamin.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at the Eagles in Wahoo, Nebraska from 1-4.
