WAHOO, NE -- Wilma E. Kantor, 87, of Howells, Columbus, Lincoln, and Wahoo entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Wilma was born May 27, 1938, in Howells, to Anton and Sophie Elbracht. She was raised on the family farm outside of Howells along with her nine – yes, nine! – brothers and sisters; Mary, Fran, Allie, (Wilma), Flory, Jean, Ted, Hank, Hermy, and Aloysious – she adored them all, and told stories (most which can be repeated) about all of them to the very end. She graduated a Howell's Bobcat from Howells High School in 1953. Wilma was a member of Rural Youth where she met Duane Kantor, who was also a Rural Youth member (and quite the dancer, too). On October 22, 1960 Wilma married Duane. They continued to enjoy dancing, laughing, farming, traveling, family, and friends together for fifty-three years until Duane passed away on Wilma's birthday (good one, Dewey) in 2013. Wilma also enjoyed bridge, scrabble, retelling the "wood-eye, wood-eye" joke, and just going on a long drive to nowhere in particular.
She had two spectacular (and rather good-looking) children; Jo Marie and David Duane.
Wilma is survived by her children; daughter Jo Marie, honorary grandchild, Destiny Bomberger; son, David (Jill) Kantor; her magnificent grandchildren, John Milvoy Kantor and Ava James Kantor; and her sisters Jean Sellhorst and Flory Renner (also very good looking) and many precious nieces and nephews. Instead of flowers, the next time you're having a cup of coffee or an ice-cold Coors Light, tell your favorite Wilma Kantor story and remind people, "not to worry so much, it's all going to be just fine."
Mass of Christian Burial, Thursday (7/3/25) 10:30 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
Visitation, Thursday (7/3/25) 9-10 am with a 10:00 am Rosary all at the church.
Interment at St. Francis Cemetery in Wahoo.

Wilma was a great gal and friend when she and Duane lived in Columbus. They were just around the block from us and we raised our children together. We had many good laughs and hugs during those years. Our sympathy to Jo, Dave and family. I cherish the wonderful memories . I am sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral but Liz has promised to extend our love to you.
