Sheryl Ask Obituary

Sheryl Ask
January 5, 1945 - December 23, 2024
Sheryl Ann Overboe was born on January 5, 1945, in Fargo, ND to Peder and Agnes (Sorbel) Overboe. She was raised on a farm by Kindred and went to Country School until 8th grade. Sheryl graduated from Kindred High School in 1963. She attended NDSSS in Wahpeton and worked at Fargo Clinic and Dakota National Bank where she met her husband Curt Ask, the love of her life. They were married on April 12, 1969, at Kindred Lutheran Church; they lived in Fargo/Moorhead and moved to Kent, MN in 1975.
Sheryl was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Abercrombie. She loved to cook especially pies and making lefse at Christmas time. She was a bowler, an avid golfer, and loved to play mahjong and bridge with her friends at One Oak. She cherished traveling with Curt and their many friends, exploring countless destinations in their motorhome. In later years, she especially loved visiting Cabo and Palm Desert.
Sheryl was a friend to many and found comfort in the friendships she made at One Oak, where she moved after Curt's passing. Throughout her lifetime, she cherished the countless friendships she formed, each one adding joy and meaning to her journey. Her greatest blessings were her children and grandchildren, whom she was with when she entered her eternal home. She will be remembered always for her kindness and loving heart.
Sheryl will be missed by her children, Jason (Fran) Ask, West Fargo, ND, and Andrea (Jay) Thimjon, Wahpeton, ND; her grandchildren Katelyn and Emily Ask and Kobe and Riley Thimjon; her brothers Tom (Gloria) Overboe and David (Debora) Overboe; her brothers-in-law, Tom (Anita) Ask and David (Kim) Ask; and many nieces and nephews; and all who called her friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Curt Ask, sister Phyllis Linscheid and brother-in-law Jim Linscheid.
A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo, ND with a visitation one hour prior. Visitation will continue at 9:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2025, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Abercrombie, ND, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m.

Terribly saddened to hear the news. I was honored to know both Sheryl and Curt at the Bois de Sioux Golf Club. Wonderful people. My deepest condolences to all family and friends.
