Amy Laura Haas, 47, of Walker, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2026, at her home in Walker.

Amy was born July 27, 1978, in Laporte, to Kurt and Mary (Knudsvig) Wied along with her twin sister, Anne. She graduated from Brainerd High School in 1996 and went on to attend college in Bozeman, Montana. She returned to the Walker area and met Matt Haas. They welcomed a son, Isaiah, on April 27, 2002, and were married  Aug. 27, 2005.

Amy graduated from Bemidji State University in 2021 with her bachelor's of science degree and worked as an infant and toddler teacher at Leech Lake Head Start in Onigum. In her free time, Amy loved spending time on the lake paddle boarding, boating and water skiing. She enjoyed yoga, camping, listening to music, campfires and never met a dog she didn't like.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Isaiah; mother Mary Wied; sisters Elizabeth Lund, Katherine (Jeremey) Johnson, Anne (Josh) Hayes; the father of her son and friend Matt Haas; nieces and nephews Jacob, Ryan, Abigail, Garret, Hannah and Elijah; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Amy was preceded in death by her father Kurt Wied; uncle David Knudsvig; maternal grandparents H Manford and Grace E. T. Knudsvig; paternal grandparents Milton J. Wied, Florence M. Moles and Fred Peters .

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. March 31 at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker with visitation one hour prior to the service. Honorary urnbearers will be Amy's godchildren.  Following the service, all are invited to a luncheon in the fellowship hall.
