Sandra Marie Wenzel, "Miss Sandy" or "Sandy," 61, passed away peacefully in her Walker home Tuesday, April 22, 2025, surrounded by staff, listening to one of her favorite musicians, Elvis.
Miss Sandy will be missed as a listening ear of everyone's secrets. Staff will never make an oatmeal without thinking of her. We will miss finding random socks throughout the house and hearing her yelling throughout the house.
Sandy is survived by her siblings, Kathy Brown, Leah Wenzel, Elmer Wenzel (Sara), David Wenzel (Pam), Daniel Wenzel (Rachel), her twin Shirley Cossette (Mitch) and Cindy Wenzel; numerous nieces and nephews; and her Walker housemates and caregivers, who were like family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Sr. and Phyllis Wenzel; siblings Robert "Bob" Wenzel Jr., Debra Greeley and Donnie Wenzel; and several housemates.
A Celebration of Life open house for Miss Sandy will be May 7 from 1-3 p.m. at Whispering Pines Funeral and Cremation Service, 3695 Autumn Loop NW, Hackensack. Honorary pallbearers will be her Walker housemates and caregivers, and her guardian, Sharon Grossman.
Arrangements provided by Whispering Pines Funeral and Cremation Service of Walker and Hackensack.
