Josephine Ridenti

WATERTOWN Josephine Ida Isabella (DeFillippis) Ridenti of Watertown, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89. The daughter of the late Francisco and Anna (Mennilli) DeFillippis, she was born in Italy and immigrated to Waltham as a young girl. Raised and educated in Waltham, she was a Watertown resident for over 55 years moving there from Southborough where she lived for several years. Mrs. Ridenti retired from the Charlesgate Manor Nursing Home in Watertown after working for over 20 years as a nurses aide; she had previously worked for more than 20 years at Arkless Switch Company in Watertown. A devoted mother, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing and volunteering at Charlesgate Manor after her retirement. Mrs. Ridenti was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph C. Ridenti, her brother, Nicholas DeFillippis and her sister, Venicia Marzilli. She is survived by her daughter, Maryann Ridenti of Watertown, her sons, Joseph C. Ridenti, Jr. of Salisbury and Paul and his wife, Elaine Ridenti of Waltham, her sister, Mary Lichwala of Newton and her brother, Joseph DeFillippis of Waltham. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Paula Ridenti and her nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Saint Charles Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
