Rose Rizzo Obituary

Rose M. Rizzo WALTHAM Rose M. Rizzo, 93, of Waltham, died peacefully Wednesday evening, Aug.20, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 28, 1915 in Waltham, daughter of the late Francesco and Pasqualina (Scrocco) Lupo, Mrs. Rizzo was a lifelong resident of Waltham. Mrs. Rizzo was employed in retail sales throughout her life and, in her spare time, enjoyed playing cards, and was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan. She was devoted to her family, especially her granddaughters. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome Rizzo, and sister of the late Mary Cacciatore, Anna Viscogliosi, Alice Bibbo, Delia DeMarco, Joseph, Michael, Francis, John and Anthony Lupo. She is survived by her loving children, Geraldine A. Rizzo of Honolulu, and Robert F. Rizzo and his wife, Susan, of Waltham, and her cherished granddaughters, Christine M., Jennifer L. and Andrea A. Rizzo. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapels Inc., 773 Moody St., Waltham, on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 9 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial, in celebration of her life, at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Care Alternatives Hospice, 181 Cedar Hill Road, Marlborough, MA 01752.
