Alfred Tester

Alfred E. "Al" Tester, 95, of Wapakoneta, died at 10:15 p.m., Mon. Nov. 27, 2023, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Wapakoneta, the son of the late Harold and Alvina (Esser) Tester. On Dec. 24, 1950, he married Barbara L. Chesbrough, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2018.
Survivors include,
2 sons, Steven D. (Robert Zollweg) Tester, Toledo, OH,
David S. (Trina) Tester, Fairfield Twp. OH;
2 grandsons, Scott (Jen) Tester,
Matthew (Lauren) Tester;
5 great grandchildren, Nolan, Beckett, Cameron, Delaney, Madison Tester.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Dobie, and an infant brother, Harold Dean Tester.

Al had owned and operated the Reichelderfer and Graham Lumber Co., Cridersville, for over 40 years. A 1946 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Al served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, and a member of the Lumbermen's Assn. Al enjoyed working in his yard, spending time with his family, and attending his grandsons' ball games.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Mon. Dec. 4, 2023, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post #8445. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. until the time of the time of the service, Mon. Dec. 4, at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at The Gardens for the excellent care they gave Al during his stay there. They went above and beyond and treated him like family.
