Robert E. "Bob" Rostofer

1940 - 2018

Robert E. "Bob" Rostorfer, 77, of Wapakoneta, died 8:51 p.m., Wed. Jan. 10, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 22, 1940, in Allen Co., the son of Robert M. "Bud" and Louella M. "Peg" (Shoffstall) Rostorfer, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 13, 1961, he married Martha A. Elsass, and she survives.

Other survivors include, Three children, Steven R. (Cheryl) Rostorfer, Lori Morris, and Dawn Rostorfer, all of Wapakoneta, five grandchildren, Amber (Christopher) Van Meter, Steven Rostorfer, Jr., Alicia (Dalton) Osterhout, Beth (Cody) Etter, and Jonathan Morris, two step-grandchildren, Shanon (J.D.) Lamb & Anthony Morris, five great grandchildren, Ashton, Cayden, Aaliyah, Ella, & Jacob, one step-great granddaughter, Issabelle, two sisters, Patricia (Robert) Schindler, Buckland, and Bonnie Kemp, Wapakoneta.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Richard D. "Peanuts" Rostorfer.

Bob retired in 2005 from Crown Equipment after 11 years of service. Prior to that, he had worked for 36 years at Superior Tube, Wapakoneta. He was a 1958 graduate of Buckland High School, and a member of First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta.

Bob was also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, and the Sons of the American Legion, Post #330, both of Wapakoneta. He served in the Ohio National Guard. His hobbies included bowling and throwing darts with his friends, campfires, working in his yard, and spending time with his family. Bob was a fan of the Wapakoneta High School Redskins, and always kept himself busy doing odd jobs around the house.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tues. Jan. 16, 2018, at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, 1102 Lincoln Ave., (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, with Pastor Neil Brady officiating. The family will receive friends 9 am until time of the service Tues. at the funeral home.
