Portia McCoy Obituary
Portia graduated from Warrensburg High School, Class of 1954. On March 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Ron McCoy. Her love of travel began with Ron's military time overseas and continued her entire life. Portia spent 30 years supporting local farmers as a loan officer at the USDA office in Warrensburg, which she considered a great honor and thoroughly enjoyed doing.
After retiring, her time was shared with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as her family was her true pride and joy.
Portia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron, and her sister, Paige Shivar.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Hibdon, and her husband, Craig; two granddaughters, Cassie Gates and her husband, Damon, and Carly Joyner and her husband, Mike; and four great-grandchildren, Hayden, Dawson, Sophia, and Hallee, all of Warrensburg.
The family will be holding a private graveside service and would like to thank Warrensburg Manor and Crossroads Hospice for their loving care of Portia and her family during her final days.

My dad Alvin Werneke worked in the land office he measured land. Portia was so nice he thought a lot of her and the other ladies in the office I would go with him some days I always thought Mrs Portia was beautiful. God bless

Blessings and prayers to the family! I enjoyed don't Portia's hair for the past 15+ years. I will miss her, she was always so positive and a joy to do her hair.

Portia will be truly missed. She was my cousind grandmother but I loved her like she was my grandmother as well. She was the sweetest person I've ever known and I loved being around her. She was sassy and stylish but sweet and humble. She stayed positive even through fighting cancer. I never heard her complain. I love you family and I know she is in heaven healthy and young again. I will miss her dearly
