Thomas Robert Butts

1968 - 2025

Thomas Robert Butts, of Warrensburg, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born September 26, 1968, to Robert Morris and Janis Maurine (Cox) Butts.

Tom is survived by his mother, Janis of Pittsford, New York; his sister, Renee (Tom) Brawn of Pittsford, New York; his nephew, Adam Brawn of Pittsford, New York; and his niece, Ashley Brawn also of Pittsford, New York.

Tom worked in construction as a kitchen and bath remodeler, as a handyman, and as a
'Jack-of-all-trades' contractor. In his spare time, Tom enjoyed cooking, tending to his garden and to his plethora of plants, entertaining friends with wild bonfires, and, of course, he loved his two favorite cats. He was well-known for being quick-witted and silver tongued. Conversations with Tom were always stimulating, thought-provoking, and lively.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sweeney-Phillips &
Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.

The family would like to sincerely thank Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and suggest that any memorial contributions be made to their facility. Tom's plants will be available at his memorial service, and everyone is encouraged to take one home as a remembrance of Tom's friendship.
