I will never forget all the fun and laughter Albert, the young sailor, brought to the Powell family in the early 1950's (I was 8 years old when my sister Fay met him)) He always brought us hot Krispy Kreme donuts, took my little girlfriend & I to get the famous 15 cent hamburgers from the first McDonalds in Norview, and took us all on the great crabbing trips catching the big Blues. We rode the surf at Virginia Beach on big black inner tubes and rode the roller coaster at Ocean View. We always had picnics with my mother's famous fried chicken. We did not have cell phones, computers, or TV sets - we did not need them. With Albert around, we just had good old down home fun. Albert had a heart of gold and went the extra mile to help people. He was "bigger than life!" I will miss him. My sympathy goes out to Fay and the rest of his family.
