ALBERT MONIZ Obituary
Dr. Albert Moniz
Doctor Albert Moniz passed peacefully away surrounded by his family on the January 15, 2019. He was born in 1927 in Fall River Massachusetts to Manuel and Angelina Moniz. A pediatrician for 42 years, he cared for three generations of patients, providing compassionate and loving care to both his patients and their families. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Moniz, his sons, Al, Andy and Mike Moniz, his daughters, Lizabeth Moniz and Mary Reilly, his sister, Angelina Sullivan, four cousins, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 19 at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax from 2 to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Doctor Albert Moniz's life will be held on Monday, January 21 at 11 a.m. at Saint Leo's Catholic Church in Fairfax. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations go to Children's National Health System at https://childrensnational.org/giving. www.fairfaxmemorialfuneralhome.com

Dr. Moniz was my father's pediatrician at the Falls Church Medical Center. A little over 30 years later when we moved back to the area, he was mine, too. Wonderful doctor and wonderful man. Prayers for the repose of his soul and for his family.

Dr. Moniz was truly a gift to my family. His competence, kindness and sense of humor at every visit with our 3 children always made this neurotic mother feel so much better. We will truly always think of him as one of the very positive people in our lives. My prayers are with his family.

Dr. Moniz was one of my pediatricians at the Falls Church Medical Center in the '60's. In the '90's, he treated our son there. He was a wonderful doctor and a truly fine person. Our deepest sympathy to the family.
