Alexander Kenyon Chapman

Alexander Kenyon Chapman died peacefully on November 2, 2022 at the age of 76. Lexi, as he was known by his family, was the son of Grosvenor and Rose-Marie Edmunds Chapman. He graduated from Western High School in 1966. His youthful interest in science led to multiple experiments including one that sent goldfish flying into the air. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then attended the University of Virginia where he received both a BA and BS. Lexi pursued a career in the then-new field of computer technology. He founded his own company and later served as a consultant on multiple projects in both the private and public sectors.

Lexi avidly pursued a lifelong interest in history and religion as well as the sciences where he had a particular preoccupation with medicine. He shared his knowledge with any who would listen. He came to prefer the name Max, and was a warm, loving and generous individual who was always willing to help those who needed an extra hand. His early first marriage ended in divorce. In 2008, he and his beloved second wife, Susan Nicholson, who pre-deceased him, enjoyed the "Journey of Man" - a 20-day tour around the world.

Lexi leaves behind dear friends and family members including his sister, Eleanor (Leni) Chapman Preston; her husband; two nieces and their children. A memorial service will be planned for the future.
