Alfred Gerald Obituary
ALFRED NELSON GERALD, M.D., M.P.H.
Alfred Nelson Gerald, M.D., M.P.H., 91, a former Inspector General of Health of the Republic of Panama, and a former Division Chief of PAHO/WHO, died peacefully, with his wife Dorothy Whiteman Gerald at his side, at Riderwood Village, a retirement community in Silver Spring, MD, on November 6, 2010. Dr. Gerald is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Whiteman Gerald of Silver Spring, MD, and by three of his four sons, Gilberto Gerald and his partner, Jeffrey Vessels, of San Francisco, CA and Miami Beach, FL, Roqué Gerald Psy.D., of Washington, DC, and Osvaldo Gerald and his wife Odetta Gerald, of West Orange, NJ. Alpha Gerald, the eldest, died in August 1985. He is also survived by, six grandchildren, nieces and nephew. Memorial Service will be held November 13 at 10 a.m. at the Riderwood Retirement Community Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riderwood Scholarship for Youth in memory of Dr. Gerald.
