Andy and I were officemates at DOJ from 2012 to 2014. He was the kindest, most good humored, and humble person I have ever known. I really can’t remember a day he wasn’t in a cheerful mood. If you knew him at all, you knew how he adored his family. His beautiful wife and children, and cycling, were his favorite topics of conversation. I think we hit it off so well because, when we met, I was just starting my own family, at the time recently engaged, and he had a captive audience in me. I loved hearing his stories about his young family and the journey from being a young couple to having babies to kids leaving the nest. And he loved telling them. The last time I saw Andy in person was summer 2019. I ran into him by chance at Union Station. I was 8 months pregnant. We hadn’t seen each other for at least a year, but like no time had passed he gave me the biggest, warmest hug and, without a thought, plopped a hand on my belly and said “WOW”. I’ll never forget that smile. ...I will miss you, my friend. Thanks for always reminding the rest of us what’s really important -- cherishing the people you love.

Andy will always be remembered as the life of the party, the instigator of fun at work, and a dedicated and talented public servant. He was a capable analyst who his customers trusted and his supervisors relied upon to find a path out of any challenge. Andy was also my friend whom I will cherish forever. He was kind and supportive to everyone. God bless him and my condolences to Maria, Morgan, and Kyle.

Maria, Kyle and Morgan - my heart breaks for you. Andy was one of the first coach/volunteer I encountered at WLL and always enjoyed playing his teams. He had a great sense of humor and encouraged every player no matter what team. I really enjoyed the adult baseball we played together were we could act like kids for three hours a week. My his memories live on forever in your hearts. Rest peacefully my friend.
