Dr. Andrew Fowler was truly "Mr. Washington Baptist Seminary". No one could handle the king's English like him! To get it right, you had to cross every 't' and dot every 'i'. Nothing else would do.
I am delighted to have had the pleasure of attending WBS and encountering such a giant both in stature and wisdom.
The WBS Class of 1982 will forever cherish his memory and wisdom, as well as chuckle at the antics and the common sense lessons he shared with us.

We offer our condolences to the wife and family of our beloved Reverend Doctor Andrew Fowler. He was a true visionary-a legend who worked to educate not only ministers, but all those around him. It's hard to imagine a school of higher learning without Doc! He was a wise, witty, generous man with a loving heart. Thank God for sharing him with us for a while.

On behalf of the Cutler family, our deepest sympathies to the Fowler family. Having been members of Capital View throughout most of the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's, at which time our family moved away, we were and have been richly blessed by Rev. Fowler's leadership and example for many years. He was truly a giant and will be sorely missed.

It is such a great honor to have met and been a student of Rev., Dr. Andrew Fowler, one of the greatest spiritual, moral and intellectual leaders of our time. The shadow of this titan will never dissipate from the backdrop of the stage where true African American Baptist of Slave Descent serve the True and Living GOD. We thank God for this Great Gospel Preacher who now resides in the arms of JESUS.
We offer our condolences to the family and assure you that our loss is indeed heaven's gain.

To the Fowler Family and the Capitol View Baptist Church Family: We have lost a giant of a man. Dr Fowler was the one we checked with before we ventured out into uncharted waters. The Ministers Conference, the school, the mission field organizations will not be the same without Dr. Fowler. He was the back bone of all these groups. He has earned his eternal rest. May the Lord bless you all.

To Doretta, John II, Andrew and John Sr.,Fowler, and to all family members of Dr. Fowler: We hope and pray that the loss of your love one reinforces your belief in why God does what He do in our lives; His will be done and He makes no mistakes; after all, He is God Almightly, priase Him! Our part in this equation is to have hope and faith, belief and trust in God's many promises to us all. He will never forsake us, and all things are possible for those who love the Lord! I'm personally a witness to that, as I'm sure you are too. All things work together for the good of those who love Christ Jesus, every single thing! Truly it was a blessing to have been brought up in the church under Dr. Fowler. My mother and her sisters came up under Dr. Fowler also. My Husband also was taught by the Great Dr. Fowler. We send our deepest sympathy to the family and remember that he is forever In Your Heart. When you speak of him speak not with tears for thoughts of him should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort for his life was rich because of you. And though for now you had to part, though to part he did not choose; he'll be with you along life's path,Forever In Your Heart.
Our Deepest Sympathy to the Family
