Andrew Klein Obituary

Andrew M. Klein was born in New Rochelle, New York on December 28, 1941. He spent his childhood between Bronxville and Montauk. He attended the Hotchkiss school where he played the piano and chess, two hobbies that he enjoyed most of his life. After Hotchkiss he went to the University of Chicago for undergrad and earned a B.A. in English Literature and then he returned to earn his law degree. After school he practiced as a lawyer and then became the Director of Market Regulations for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He then joined the law firm and became a partner of Schiff Hardin where he worked as a Security and Exchange lawyer until his retirement in 2015. His love of classical music, Bob Dylan, chess and Roman history will be remembered by all who knew him. Andrew is survived by his sister Dana Klein Bluementhal, his daughters Adrienne Manning Klein, Emily DeBow Klein, Emily's husband Chad Fleming and two grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin. Andrew is also survived by his stepdaughter Leigh Pond, her husband Christopher Pond and their three children, Emma, Anna and Henry Pond. He is being laid to rest by Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home. Andrew will be missed in our neighborhood. He always approached things with an analytical mind and never hesitated to offer thoughtful ideas to solve problems we had. A brilliant and kind gentleman has left us, wish we had known him better.
