Dad,
It's hard to fathom that 14 years has gone by so fast. Not a day goes by that you are not in my thoughts. I Miss your presence, however I am comforted by the fact that you live forever in my heart!
I Love and Miss You.

Dad,
It's hard to fathom that 12 years have come and gone.
A lot has changed. Thanks for equipping me with the necessary skills to navigate through the changing times.

So many have joined "The Council" !

Rest assured "Chicken Dirty Redds" and I are holding down the fort as the Duly Appointed Matriarch and Patriarch.

Continue to speak to All of Us as you watch over us.
As you so eloquently stated "Sometimes you have to play the hand you were dealt" as we continue this Journey called "LYFE".
I'll do the best I can choosing my cards as I "Keep Moving Forward" with "NO REGRETS" !

Thanks for the Life Lessons Learned.

I Love and Miss You Dad,

Thinking of you today as June has been a season of letting go! Tomorrow on the 2nd is when our hearts skipped a beat. . I did everything you asked me to do and even put up a good fight! Winners don´t win they just let go! Remembering that conversation with you my own dad never had with me is still fresh in my mind. Thanks for the talk which I will always remember! I am the woman I am today because of it. Wish I had more time with you. However, I thank God for the moments he spared. Tell my dad hello......THANK YOU!

Dad,
Today is Thursday June 2nd, just like it was 11 years ago when you transitioned. How ironic, I find myself in the same thought process that I did exactly 11 years ago, Reflecting!
A lot has changed, yet a lot has stayed the same.

Continue to watch over and guide me as I am now the Patriarch.

I Love and Miss You,

Dad,
As I sit here and reflect, it's hard to believe that Ten Years has past so quickly. There is not a day that passes that I don't think of you. I miss our conversations, and our spending time together. Most of all "I Miss You !"

I "Thank You" for ALL the Memories and Life Lessons. Continue to speak to me as I am along this Journey.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. It was an honor to meet you. That call we had will always be in my heart!

June 2, 2015

Four years ago today, I got that early morning phone call. I will always remember Thursday June 2, 2011. When I answered the phone, trying to maintain a calm voice, she said to me "I think you need to come quickly !" (As if I couldn't detect something wrong in one of my parent's voice)

I hung up the phone, got dressed and everything else was muscle memory just as I was taught in the Academy. I remembered getting into my vehicle and turning on my headlights and flashers as I prepared for a Priority Run. As I started my Priority Run, I had traveled about three blocks and I heard your voice say to me "No need to Rush "B", I'm gone." I replied "Yes Sir" and turned off the lights and slowed down. As I continued to the house, I just reflected. When I arrived, I was met at the door, greeted with a Motherly hug and proceeded to your room.

When I walked into the room, I confirmed what you had told me when you admonished me to slow down while enroute.
At that very point it hit me. This was the culmination of my lesson that you were teaching me over the previous ten and a half months. It was at that point that I realized it was Graduation Day.

Thank You for the lesson. Thank You for the training. Thank You for the Preparation. Most of ALL, Thank You for your Example !

There is not a Day that Goes By that I don't FEEL Your Presence.

Wow Granddad a year already!!! It just seems like you were scolding me for staying late and threaten to take my keys! A year later I still have my days but they are few and far. One because you are still with me...your blood runs thru my veins! Two I have no regrets for the time we didn't spend together but rather cherish the time we did watching the Cooking channel and you having me get you treats! Love you always and keep you near.

Wow, it's so amazing how fast a year has gone by!

Not a Day goes by that I don't feel your presence. Thanks for keeping an eye on me!

As I sat in the chair reflecting as we Celebrated you on the 2nd, I could not help but to see that your wishes were being carried out as you requested. Everyone in attendance was "continuing to MOVE Forward".

Each Generation was represented. The Kids, Grands and Great-grands.

We are ALL doing fine ,'cuz as you so eloquently put "You Live on because we ALL are a part of You".

That someone Special

April 9, 2012

seems just like yesterday, talking with you on my way home from work. You thanked me for the magazines to read while you sat patiently in the bed, watiing on God's orders. You reminded me to continue to love "a someone" no matter what! You said you knew from the start there was a spark and that I was someone important and special! I laughed but you did not, you were serious. I realized today, that after that talk with you, I am important as not even my own father told me this. I thank you as I am thinking of you today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!
It was my original intention to rush back from Atlanta to Celebrate with you today. However, my plan was not the Master Plan. I celebrate you just the same. In your Honor, I celebrated you at Your Spot the "Bone Fish Grille". I ordered your Imperial Longfin and smiled! Thanks for EVERYTHING! I Love and Miss You Man!

Granddad though it is now after midnight I have missed Father's Day... I drove back today as I did last yr and reflected on the time we had together last year. I just thought how we had a great time with All the family to celebrate your Bday and Father's Day.. You have physically been gone just a few weeks but, I just miss being able to stop by. In one of our last conversations I told you I had no regrets about anything... I love you and always keep you near!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!
I woke up this morning with mixed emotions. Then I quickly remembered a conversation with my Grandfather (“Doc Tate”) that took place in 1970 on Nichols Avenue and Mellon Street at the American Gas Station. He said “Champ, the way I see it you were Blessed with two (2) sets of parents…If anything you suffer from too much Love.” With that being said, Today I reflected on how I felt being (Physically) alone. I quickly remembered that "It's A Great Day To Be ALIVE!" The Five of my Heroes, (Fathers and GrandFathers) though not here Physically are still with me Spiritually! They will Live On in my Heart and Memory. I will Cherish EVERY Experience and Lesson learned along Our Journey.

Thank You For Molding and Developing me into the Man I am today!

I Love You Man! "NoRegrets"

"IT'S A GREAT DAY TO BE ALIVE"!! These are words that I will always live by. Upon hearing of your transition, I first wanted to cry but then remembered I had no reason to shed any tears. The time that we got to spend together were the BEST moments in my life.. Just sitting watching "our" channel (The Food Network) and You telling me stories of our family. Times likes this I will truly miss but, I know I will always be able to talk to you. As what is now the famous family quote".... my blood flows thru your veins", you are with me no matter. Granddad you may not be here any longer in the physical but, a person like you can and will never be forgotten.

We will be talking soon...

Luv Always,
