Tony - Although it's been 6 years, we often think of you. Every time we see views of Time Square on TV we recall the times we spent embedded in that neighborhood with you. And a couple years ago, when we got to NY, we stopped at the Edison, spoke with the "Bellhops" who handled your trips all those years... and to a man, they remembered you fondly. And we do, too.

Tony was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by so many people. Tony always had a smile on his face and something nice to say to everyone. A true inspiration to all of us.

Tony. It's still shocking to know his AMAZING laughter won't be heard aloud - but will live strong and sing within our hearts forever. My son (9) and daughter (10) and I knew Tony from his wonderful Arts & Crafts shows. He took my son under his wing and made him his "little worker" - which meant THE WORLD to him! We'll never say good-bye --- but, until we meet again our dear, beloved friend.

I first met Tony when I went on his wonderful Deliberti tours to NY. Always an exciting and fun time. This past October he was in the hospital and unable to make the trip to NY. He was sorely missed and may be rest in peace. Missed by so many. M. Mathieu

Mr. Deliberti! I am just catching up with things. Of course you already knew that. You had to be the biggest reason I only got into a little trouble during high school. I know you are one of the biggest reasons I made it out..... through the front door. You made everyday a special day. You made it worth getting up and actually going to school. I look forward to seeing you again. RIP

Great man, better person, who changed thousands of kids and made them great young adults. Best teacher I ever had. He tracked me down in '95 and we enjoyed a great dinner up in Albany. 'Dels', you'll always be with us - from trips to FL, NYC, coaching our b-ball team at the Capital Center, and teaching English. "And when our work is done, Our course on earth is run, May it be said, 'Well Done; Be Thou At Peace.' " Brian Ranne FSK '80.

Mr. D. you will always be the best, for you brought out the best in everyone. You taught us how to be the best we could be. Good Eye Contact was the key to an "A" in Oral Communication class. Many years and to this day after leaving your class, you are the teacher that I talk about the most. WILL ALWAYS remember you, Oral Communications and Bowling.

We went to New York with Tony for 14 years. We looked forward to the trips because we had the chance to see Tony in person. We knew of his education background, and he used that ability to get the theater goers to learn how to like different. types of plays. We admired his sincerity and friendliness over the years. We will miss Tony, and thank him for his friendship.

Mr. Deleiberti, to this day, you remain my favorite teacher. You took a group of students and me to a aerosmith concert at Capital Center. It was one of the last general admission concerts and you sat us down, then left so that we could be cool without our teacher. You have left a fine legacy for sure. If you set out to positively impact the lives of children, you accomplished your goal x1000.

I am SO sorry to hear of his passing. Mr Deliberti was by far one of my favorite teachers of all time. The funny thing about this is that I was never actually in one of his traditional classrooms. It was the education, compassion, respect for others and laughter that we shared in the hallways of Gaithersburg High School and on the track when we did Special Olympic volunteering. I am humbled by the fact that we shared a birthday...I am a lucky girl in more ways than I can count for knowing him...He will be missed by many...

GHS Class of '88. Mr. Deliberti was the best. I was lucky enough to get a double dose because after teaching me in tenth grade, he allowed me to be his student assistant in my senior year. Mr. Deliberti didn't just teach. He was by his nature A TEACHER through and through. Whenever a student was not ready to give their speech, or had failed a quiz, or didn't bring in their homework, Mr. Deliberti would say, "It's hot as hell in Summer School!" Easily the best motivational statement I ever heard as a student.

Mr. Deliberti is one of a handful of teachers that I still think about. He took a special interest in me when he was at Key Junio high back in 82-83. He was the first teacher I ever had that showed he cared about me as a person and not just as a student. Heaven is a better place now that Mr. D's soul is up there.

I was a student of Mr. Deliberti's at Richard Montgomery HS in the early 1990s. He made a huge difference in my life and the lives of so many! One of the experiences that had the most impact on my teenage years was a trip he organized for a group to do community service in Costa Rica. I'm filled with loss and sadness but also wonderful memories of all he added to the world.

Mr. D ran a bowling club for students at Francis Scott Key Jr. High in Maryland on Friday afternoons at White Oak lanes. Among the many wonderful contributions he made to school life at FSK, this might have been his best. I will never forget those Fridays. Thanks and rest well, Mr. D.

We've only know Tony for the past 15 years through the wonderful “classroom” he created with his NYC trips.
For us he was a “master teacher” whose concern for our learning was reflected not just in his choice of plays, but also in the Sunday morning visits that tapped NYC's history and culture by finding fascinating places that I (someone who grew up in NY) never had seen.
Thanks for the values you added to our lives.
