Arlene Posner Obituary

Arlene Rosenberg Posner, a lifelong Washingtonian, passed away on November 18, 2025. Arlene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Paul L. Posner. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Posner, son-in-law Josh Gelfman; and her two adored grandsons, Asher and Henry, undeniably the lights of her life. Few things brought her more joy than being their 'Amma Marlene.'
A passionate supporter of animals, Arlene devoted much of her time and heart to their welfare. She especially cherished her two dogs, Bensky and Doogie, who brought her daily comfort, companionship, and laughter. Arlene will be remembered for her terrific sense of humor and empathetic spirit.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on November 25 at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Arlene's memory to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary or the Dr. Paul L. Posner Memorial MPA Scholarship Fund at George Mason University.

Yesterday

I met Arlene through Paul, with whom I worked. She was funny and strong and smart and..... I know her spirit and vitality lives on through her family and others she touched-Sue

Arlene and Paul have always been like family. We especially think of them this time of year as we often spent holidays together.
She always had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a very important person in our lives and I know how hard this must be for you all.
Lots of love to you all throughout these very difficult times.
