Arthur Bloomquest Obituary

BLOOMQUEST ARTHUR L. BLOOMQUEST Passed away just shy of his 90th birthday on Friday, January 30, 2009. He is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 66 years; his two children, Beth and Bruce; his three grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew and Joseph; and five great-grandchildren. Arthur was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He was a staff sergeant in the Air Force during WWII and after moving to McLean, VA, devoted his 30 year career to the Dept. of Defense at the Pentagon. He was a devout Catholic and was a man that others looked up to - a great example for his children and all that followed. He was an honorable man and truly a "class act". The family will receive family and friends Thursday evening, February 5 at Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Rd., Midlothian, VA 23113 from 5 to 7 p.m. A family service will commence at 7 p.m. Arthur will be buried Friday morning, February 6, 9 a.m. at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd. (Rt. 619), Triangle, VA 22172. In lieu of flowers, his family would like to thank and acknowledge a group that was a blessing to Arthur in his final few weeks, Bon Secours Hospice, 8580 Magellan Pkwy., Richmond, VA 23227 or his beloved church for over 50 years, St. John's Catholic Church, 6420 Linway Terrace, McLean, VA 22101.
