I literally found out this morning after calling his office that dear wonderful Arthur had passed. I have known Arthur since Garfield Elementary School we even attended the same church, Emanuel Baptist for years along with his mom and sisters. Surprisingly we never lost contact as I lives moved in different directions and we always knew that we shared deep feelings for one other, but our timing was always off. I will never forget his support of me during the trying times in my life, his laughter and his innate ability to make sense of our life's crazy's moments- he could always make me smile. Butts, you have left an indelible print on my heart that no amount of time or space will remove. And your spirit of always seeing good hopefully will live on in your sons. As you soar above the heavens look down for me and see the light in my heart that will always burn brightly for you. I know you gave it your all so rest in peace my love, Maybe the next time around.

Arthur Butts was like a brother to me as I grew up. My brother(Darrell), Ronnie and Butts were like peas in a pod. Butts was so jolly no matter what was going on. " The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want He maketh me to lie down in green pasture, He leadeth me beside still waters, he restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteouness for his namesake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for thy are with me."

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Butts, our brother, neighbor and good friend. I have never met anyone so kind, so giving. I thank god for placing Butts in our lives for over the 13+ years that we were neighbors and for 20+ years as co-workers. Rest in peace Butts and we truly love you.

My cousin was always kind and spoke to everyone with respect. I'm sorry I have not seen him in the past years. At the Philadelphia family reunion my sister informed me of the nice time they shared together.
My heart goes out to my Aunt Mattie and his beautiful sisters Deborah and Evelyn.
May God bless his wife, sons, mother, sisters, niece's and nephews.
With all my love cousin Irone (Marty)

IF TEARS COULD...
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
To bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken.
No time to say good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
And secret tears still flow.
What it mean to lose a you,
No one will ever know.
My deepest sympathy to the Butts family. I ask God to continue to give you the strenth to move on. Butts as we would all call him will truly be missed.
