Yesterday

I met Benita over a decade ago in a class about bourbon. We were definitely kindred "spirits." Those classes continued over the years and our friendship grew. We started doing things outside of the classes as well. She was beloved by so many for her humor, big heart, and excellent stories of a life well lived. In her final couple of years, she didn't want to eat very much at all but there was a Chinese restaurant across the street and they have delicious dumplings. Anytime I visited, I needed to have the dumplings, fortune cookie and a cherry coke (or she'd literally send me back out for them.) I'm going to miss her terribly.
