I met Bennett at Kiawah Island in the late 80's. He and Betty had a condominium unit directly across the lagoon from ours. He immediately became my brother (from different mothers we'd say) and spent many days and hours riding our bikes along the beach, playing tennis, any and all types of games or just talking about everything or anything as brothers do. Betty and Ben soon became family to me and my wife Lu, traveling the world, spending holidays together and many hours of just enjoying one another. After we both left Kiawah, the phone calls and singing to one another on each of our birthdays were occasions to look forward to. I can't imagine life without him, but the world is surely a better place because of him. I will miss him dearly.

Bennett and Betty have been friends of mine for over 60 years. First through Junior Women's Club then our own group the JFFCs and now as residents at Greenspring. Bennett cooked the best roast beef for our many outings. Our bridge games go back to the beginning of our friendship. I will miss his wit and charm and hearing him say Oh Betty.
