Sleep, study, work at odd jobsthat is how Brian and I met at law school 50 years ago. Three years of sharing bottles of red wine, sharing thoughts of the case laws we read and re-read. Graduation, successful bar exams, he went to DC while I headed to San Francisco.
Colleen, he will always have a spot in my heart as a stalwart friend who was there for me over these many years. Please allow his love for you to sustain you during these difficult times.

Collen, I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Brian. He was a good, respected man and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. I am keeping you in my thoughts during this most difficult time.
With sincerest sympathy.

Although I didn't attend elementary school or high school with Brian, we did attend the same church as children and we graduated together in 1952 as all the local elementary schools had a combined graduation ceremony at the local library. Brian was class speaker and I still remember his speech, "The Balloon Man!" What an impression made by an 8th grader and he continued to make an impression throughout his life. Brian was one of those people who passed through your life and you never forgot him. May he rest in peace. Peace be with you Colleen.
With deepest sympathy,

Dear Colleen,
I am so saddened by Brian's death. He and I shared several cases over the years. He was an exceptional advocate, a true gentleman, and commanded the respect and admirations of those he dealt with.
He will surely be missed.

My friend, my mentor, my attorney when in need of the best counsel and advice. A quality story teller. A contagious laugh. The perfect mate for the closest bar stool. Colleen, I hope that all the happiness and love you and Brian shared will help sustain you in the next few months and beyond.

Colleen, I am saddened to hear of Brian's passing. I will always remember my visits to the Shaughnessy household as a child with my parents. I told my Mom tonight, I always held Brian in high regard and awe. I always remember how his parents were so proud of him. His bubbly laugh and smile I'll hold dear. I was always a captive audience when he told his stories, even later in life. He lived life to the fullest and had so many accomplishments.
