CANIES CAROL GREEN SWINTON (Age 89)
Canies entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Providence Hospital. She was born September 20, 1928 to Christine "Mama Green" Viola Coleman Green and Charles "Charlie"/"Daddy Man" Green, in Danville, VA. Canies was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Etta Lee Green Atkins and son, Larry Delano Swinton. Survived by her four sons, Willie Jerone Swinton, Jr., Kenneth Calvin Swinton, Charles Wesley Swinton and David Marcell Harris; her nieces, Shirley Ann Atkins Howe, Gwendolyn Marie Atkins Gage and Sabrena Carol Fields; nephew, Bradford Lee Atkins; grandchildren, Erik Swinton, Keith Kenneth Swinton, Christopher Coghill, and Danielle Swinton; great-grandchildren, Imanni, Nyeisha and Kristionie; great-nieces, Monica and Courtney; great-nephews, Johnnie, Erick and Brad Jr. and several great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her many cousins, the Colemans, Gills, Cunninghams and Greens. Homegoing service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Brown Memorial AME Church, 130 14th St., NE, Viewing 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. Interment Washington National Cemetery.www.johnsonandjenkins.com
