CARL GLOVER Obituary
CARL EDWARD GLOVER
The members of the Fairfax Co. Retired Police Association regret to announce the death of Carl Edward Glover on December 25, 2020. He was a Senior Police Officer assigned to the Franconia District Station at the time of his retirement in 1988. A visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021, between 2 and 4 p.m., and 6 and 8 p.m. at the Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5901 Wilton Road, Alexandria, VA, with burial at Quantico National Cemetery at 1230 p.m.

Carl was my FTO. The training he provided and the manner in which he did it was second to none. Even after my field training ended Carl was always willing to provide guidance, expertise and friendship. I will never forget you my friend and will value those life lessons you shared with me over the years.
When I had a chance to visit with you after Gloria passed I could tell how deeply you missed her. The only thing that brought a smile to your face was when we discussed Robert’s recent promotion and how successful his career with MPD has been.
My sincere condolences to Robert and to your extended family. Your dad made a difference in many lives in his service as police officer and he certainly made a difference in my life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Glover family during this difficult time. Bob, I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Carl and your mother on two occasions when I bumped into them at the IHOP in Kingstown. I was retired and introduced myself as one of your Sergeants in both District Detectives and also Homicide Branch. I told Carl and your Mother of your excellent leadership skills and how I was blessed to have served with you. I can't begin to tell you how proud Carl was of you!
