Dear Karin Price, Dear Barbara Garris, Dear friends and family of Carlos Stern,
I was recently reminiscing with my elderly parents about their past and relatives in the US. My mother, Lora Tobias née Sussman, is a cousin of Carlos's. I only had the pleasure of meeting him once. Ruth Neuwirth was there, as was Hanne Sachs and Marianne Greenblum. I believe another cousin Heinz may have been at the gathering. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I know this note is coming two years late but the news hits me hard as my parents are now of such an advanced age and somehow I found it reassuring to think that they had other relatives around. I will tell my mother of Carlos's passing when it's the right moment. I hope you are well. It would be a pleasure for me to piece together some of the family history with your help.

The sadness i feel at the dying of Carlos is tempered by the pleasure of having known him for over 65 years.
