C'ARTIS D. BERNAL
Departed this life Monday, August 5, 2013. A devoted mother, she leaves to cherish her memory, Winston M. Bernal II. Remains rest with the Owens Funeral Services, 104 Green Chimneys Ct., Ashland VA. Family will receive friends Monday, August 12, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life, 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Both services to be held at the Canaan Baptist Church, 16th & Newton Streets, NW Washington, DC 20010. Interment 11 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA. I met Mrs. Bernal years ago at a cookout at my home. She was a lovely, kind spirit and the bond between she and Winston was beautiful. Winston, please know that I grieve with you and will keep you in my daily prayers.

I am so sadden to hear of Mrs.C'Artis D Bernal's passing. Being a former Government employee and always going to her office I remember the many talks we shared even though it was over 25 years ago. My heart felt Sympathy to Winston and the Entire Family. I will not be able to attend in body but My Prayers are with the Family always. xoxxoox

I will never forget her consistent personality during the many years I worked with her at AMERICA'S MOST WANTED. She always had a kind word about my stories after they aired on Saturday nights and she was a fugitive hunter of the highest motivation. I'm so sorry that her kind, wonderful spirit has left this mortal earth. I wish her eternal bliss and rest in the master's arms. Her living was not in vain.

Dear Winston & The Bernal Family,
We were saddened to hear of the transition of your Mom & loved one. However, God's Word tells us that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord." She is with the Lord now...no more pain or disease. "She has received her new body." We send our prayers and sympathy to you all, and we ask Father God to "annoint you all with the oil of joy, and to clothe you all with the garment of praise, for the spirit of heaviness."
