Of Washington, D.C. died on Friday, April 23, 2004 after a short illness. Mrs. Scott was a renowned business leader and philanthropist in Washington, D.C.'s African American community. During the glory days of U Street she owned and operated Cecelia's, one of Washington, D.C.'S most celebrated nightclubs. Mrs. Scott served in the D.C. government under the Washington and Barry's administrations, founded CRM Development Corporation and had numerous other real estate and business ventures. Over the years Cecelia Scott has spearheaded a number of initiatives to help the less fortunate. Among those were Hospitality House a home for needy families and school shoes, a shoe and sweater fund for children from the Shaw community. Beloved mother of Tina Scott Boyd and her husband Harrison Boyd. Mrs. Scott is also survived by loving nieces Gloria Cunningham and Barbara Hurd, goddaughter Barbara Sanders, five grand-nieces, three grand-nephews, two great grand-nieces and six great grand-nephews. On Friday, April 30, a viewing will be held a St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 630 E St. S.W., from 9 to 10 a.m. with funeral services immediately after. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Suitland, MD. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a fund to be reinstated as "School Shoes II Inc." Arrangements by JOHNSON AND JENKINS.
