Chuck was the consummate professional as I worked with him to provide ECDIS-N to the fleet. His impact was great, and his commitment to the Sailor unwaivering.

To Chuck's family,
I had the pleasure of working with Chuck at Sperry. I always found Chuck passionate about the quality of our products for the USN, and determined to get Sperry Engineeirng on track to deliver the required systems.
When Chuck first came to Sperry, I think Corky was the GM at that time, and Corky wanted all new employees to have a Charlottesville mentor. I was honored that Chuck asked me to help integrate himself into our business, and be the Charlottesville mentor for him. I hope I met his expectations.
I will miss his guidance at work, and my family's thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Chuck at Sperry Marine. We spent time talking about our hobbies and interest. Nascar, his boat, and his new home. I could see the pride in his eyes when talking about his interest. It has been my honor and privilege to know Chuck, I will hold the talks we had close to my heart always.

Chuck was intensely and deservedly proud of his Naval Service. He was the epitome of a Surface Warfare Officer and was a friend who could be relied upon in any circumstance. He will be missed. I extend my sincere condolences to Carolyn and their family.

It was always a great pleasure to work with Chuck. As a fellow Captain, I trusted in his great sense of duty, loyalty, and honor. His first thought was always how to make things better for the young sailors serving at sea. He will remain a true shipmate always.

I had the pleasure of working with Chuck over the past five years at Sperry. He was a leader and great mentor. I too devoted many years to the Naval service. My single judgement of the character in a Naval Officer was would I want this person to be in command in a time of crisis? Although I did not serve with Chuck he has the kind of guy you want in command in a time of crisis. God Bless you Chuck.

Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
We'll all mis you, Shipmate.
