To the Family and close friends of "Chuck-Chuck", you all are still in my prayers. . . .

Chuck-Chuck's Dash. . .
December 9, 1970 - August 26, 2006

Most importlantly is the DASH between the two dates. That dash represents his time spent here on this earth. For me that dash represented many days and nights full of fun and laughter. Friends like Chuck-Chuck you just don't come across everyday let alone in a lifetime. So for all his family and friends. . .anytime you start to feel a little down, just think of what his DASH meant to you.

I would like to say to the family that i am truly sorry for your loss but now "chuck chuck" is watching over everyone of you and keeping you safe. I am going to miss chuck chuck and it seems like just yesterday he was making all of us laugh. He always had such a bubbling personality and i enjoed being in his presence.

To all whom have written in this entry - I am truely touched by your words of encouragement and love. I am learning a lot more about my brother through your words. Thank you. My mother and I are doing well and we do miss Chuck but we know he is in a better place. If our strength has inspired some or all of you to get pass the shock of his passing-we're glad. Life is very short-trust me on this subject. Try to remember a quiet smile, a slight laid back nod of the head with the knowledge that all will be ok - if it was meant to be...if you do that for my family you will remember my brother the way we do. Again thank you for your love and prayers.

I'm still very much in shock. What has happened seems so unreal. I haven't known you for a long time, but your beautiful spirit and your charm certainly touched my heart. I will never forget your beautiful smile. Comfort comes from knowing that GOD will forever keep you in his care. I know the Mobb City Family will miss you dearly.
Sincerely,
Ma (Baby Bop's Mother)

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I will always keep you in my heart and one day we will meet again!

I would like to send my prayers to the Fortune family. God will pull you through this time of sadness. Although Chuck Chuck is gone he remains in my heart forever. He was a real funny person who kept me laughing at all of our events. The Mobb City Family is truly going to miss him. I am going to remember the last thing he said to me "Don't be scared just move off off your seat a little and lean with it". I am not scared any more because I have an Angel looking over me. From the one they call Baby Bop of the Mobb City Riders.

I will miss Chuck dearly,he was my best friend, I feel very empty inside. I can't believe it is true. They say God has a plan and everything happens for a reason, I'm still trying to figure this out. I will miss his conversation, talks and laughs and most of all his friendship, I will never find another friend like Chuck, I am left with a lot of happy memories. If you knew Chuck you were blessed. I want to say to the Mother Washington and Sister Angela, Charles will always be with us in spirit, I will keep the family in my prayers. If you need me call. Chuck I love you.

SURPRISE!!! Remember the fun times.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Remember the Good Times and SMILE!

My boy Chuck.

Wow, I can not believe you are gone. I got a call from Chilly on Friday Sept 1. when I heard the new. I have not seen nor heard from you in about 2 years not because we were mad at each other only because time did not permit itself. And now you are gone. I am sorry I did not get to say hello or even bye to you. I am glad to say that the memories that we share were so much fun. Before your accident you came into my spirit and I keep meaning to call you and I never did. I guess this is why I am taking it so hard because I could have spoken to you before this. Love you Chuck and you will be missed and never forgotten.

To the family:

You will have moments when you can not stop crying and then moments when you can not stop laughing. I lost my only brother too and never thought I could or even wanted to continue on. But I can tell you this God and time will heal all wounds.. If you ever need to talk please contact me.

To My Beloved Friend Chuck,

Words can not express the pain that I am feeling now. Only God knows how hard it was waiting at the hospital the night you died. I prayed and ask God to keep you here for us just a while longer. I realize he had other plans for you, and that he needed you more that us here on earth. I will never forget times that you and I shared, you coming to Myrtle Beach and me visiting you in Maryland. You will always be apart of me. I can remember meeting you 11 years ago in the Park in Washington with Antonio. Chucky, I know you are in a better place now, my soul is at peace knowing that you are with God. My prayers goes out to Angela, Mrs. Martha, Rochelle(who I never got a chance to meet) and the Mob City Family. As long as I have Toe Joe, Che' and Charles and the rest of the Crew along with our memories, I know that I will always have a part of you. Remember if God brings you to it, he will bring you thru it.

Love always,

Angela

Chuck-

Even though you called me Sunshine you were my Sunshine everytime I was around you and even the times I wasn't. You always made me laugh, always made me feel lighthearted and always gave me some of the joy you never seemed to stop feeling. Absent from the body means present with the Lord and while you are missed from your temporary assignment here on Earth, I know the Lord has called you home and know He has great things planned for you.

Love Always,

I would like to thank everyone for the kind words and condolences in memory of my Dear friend and Cousin Charles "Chucky" Fortune. We all have truly lost a great friend and family member. My first memories of Chuck was as far back as age 3 running together through our Grand Mother's house off Georgia Ave in D.C. I've known this Brotha all my life and I can say without any hesitation that he was one of the most unselfish people I have ever known. I still feel this man in my heart every day and my family and the world has lost a wonderful human being. We will meet again Cuz. Love always Ahmad

Chuck I think that I am still in shock. I know that the Lord has a purpose for everything that he does and he lets people cross each other paths for reasons. I still remember the day that I met you and Chilly in Virginia Beach over 10 years ago. Even if I didnt speak to you very often, when we did speak it was like yesterday. I will truly miss you! Your smile and your ability to make people laugh will always be remembered. I would also like to send my prayers to the family. Your friend, Nico

To My Dearest Friend, Charles "Chucky" Fortune:

Words can never express the pain I felt the night you passed. I prayed and ask God to spear you, but God knew he needed you more then me. I never imagine that Friday night would be the last time that you and I would speak. I want you to know that I will miss you. I will cherish all the times you and I shared with each other, me coming to Maryland and you coming to Myrtle Beach. I thought I would have you here with me forever, but God realize that he needed you too. Words can never express my love for you. You will be deeply miss. I love you and will see you on the other side.

My deepest sympathy and prayers to all of you at this sudden unfortunate time. I am proud to have been his "NC" fam whenever he came to town to work with his job from time to time. His kind words, deep convos, and very funny thoughts kept our friendship tight and something to look forward too on a constant.

Chuck, may we see each other again on the other side on your "Gold Wing"...and forever your smile and thoughts will be me. Thanks for being there when I least expected (especially with handling my mom's cancer) !1luv (Exstacie53)

Charles,

This all seems like a terrible nightmare. The last time I saw you you were so full of life and laughter. It was so hard to see you that rainey saturday morning. Im starting school this month and your not here to help me study. You were such a big part of my support system those months. I was sooo thankful for all your help. The ironic part of it all is that you had just called me the week before fussing because I didnt call you enough. Im so sorry I took your existence for granted. I will truly miss your crazy sense of humor those text messages and those pictures you'd send me.

Until we met again Shawty!!!

To the Fortune Family may GOD be you comfort at this time.

Charles,
Its hard to believe that you are really gone. It all still seems so surreal. Its like just yesterday we were in each others arms. You were me and I was you. We fit together so perfectly. If I could trade in everything to get you back I would or at least for a moment with you. I guess things happen for a reason and I'm still trying to figure out this one. You will always be close to my heart and my perfect love. Forever and Always.

CHARLES I DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START. I WILL START OFF SAYING THAT YOUR FAMILY,CHELLE,AND MOB CITY ARE IN MY PRAYERS. YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED. I HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD MEMORIES WITH YOU. IN 2004 YOU GAVE ME THE TIME OF MY LIFE AT MY B-DAY DINNER. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW YOU MADE EVERYONE LAUGH THE WHOLE TIME IN THE RESTRAUNT. I WISH WE TOOK PICTURES THAT NIGHT. BUT SINCE WE DIDN’T I WILL KEEP YOU CLOSE TO MY HEART. YOU MADE ME LAUGH AT TIMES WHEN I DIDN’T FEEL LIKE IT. I KNEW YOU WERE THE ONE FOR CHELLE. HER FACE WOULD GLOW WITH THE MENTION OF YOUR NAME. WE WOULD TALK ABOUT WEDDING DRESSES,WEDDING COLORS, AND THE LITTLE FORTUNE CHILDREN RUNNING AROUND. YOUR MEMORY WILL LIVE ON FOREVER. I DEDICATE T.I. SONG TO YOU, “LIVE IN THE SKY”. YOU LEFT TO SOON CHARLES. I’M STILL WAITING FOR YOU TO CALL CHELLE AND SAY THAT EVERYTHING IS FINE. I STILL CANT BELIEVE THIS. UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN I WILL MISS YOU AND I LOVE YOU LIKE A BROTHER.

The pain that we feel in our hearts can not be explained

Many tears fall from our eyes, many times we ask God why

The sadness that we all feel should make us realize

To put God First and thank him everyday that we open and close our eyes

To always over love your friends and love ones everyday

Hug them and kiss them, Take the time to call and check on them

Just let them know you love them and care.

Chucky, you have been so close to our family and I will miss you dearly

You had special spirit of Love and Friendship and that made you one of a kind

Thank you for being a big Brother and I will miss you!

JOHN " SNAP" SMITH, JR.

September 1, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
