CHARLES HYLAND Obituary
CHARLES MATTHEW PAYNE HYLAND (Age 63)
Of New Market, passed away on January 8, 2021 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Hyland. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Hyland is survived by two sons, Charles J. Hyland (Sophia) and Matthew M. Hyland; a stepson, Timothy Miller (Jordyn); a brother, Arthur Hyland (Suzanne); a sister, Amy Waldron (David); three grandchildren, Haley, Ava, and Evie; several nieces, and many friends and other relatives. Mr. Hyland was a certified gemologist, and spent most of his career with Boone & Sons in McLean, VA. He was also an avid fisherman and an enthusiastic rock collector. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy., Frederick, MD. COVID precautions must be observed. Interment will take place at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens in Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Chuck.... Within the years I’ve gotten to know you, you always smiled and laughed and joked, and pushed through without a complaint. Your endless conversations about your collections of rocks, gems, and love for Kathy. Most of all, coming in and you rocking to “RUSH”, on your stereo. You made a positive fluency on the world and you will be greatly missed. Rest well, friend.

Our prayers go with Chuck and to his familys. May his love and his memories be shared by all, as we remember the time we had with him. Here's to Dr Pepper in history class, searching for gemstones in the raw from the different countries we lived in for his curio cabinet, kittens as a false Christmas gift, and his sense of humor. Love you.
