I met Charma while working in D.C.-I was in printing, and she worked at a graphic design studio. We quickly became friends and shared many bike rides together. She was truly an incredible person. Fly free, my friend!

I met Charma and Scott through a mutual friend and was their hairdresser for few years before I moved to NYC in 1990. We bartered for cuts so I stayed in touch through enjoying living with her artwork RIP beautiful Charma and my deepest condolences to Scott and family.

Charma and I worked together at Tako Grill in Bethesda in the 90's. She trained me as a waitress and soon became my mentor in art and much like a big sister. I was inspired and challenged by her in many ways. She always welcomed me, and later my children, into her and Scott's home. Her artwork is extraordinary and she was a true friend who I already miss greatly. Even when times were tough, she found joy and lightness in the moment. Rest in peace, Charma.

Charma Le was a dear friend and an amazingly fun art partner. She and I worked on a project together in the early 90s, shared studio space, a love of food, our husbands and making art. I will never forget her, she was so dear, so fun and funny and so courageous. She will be sorely missed. Scott, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Peace and Blessings during this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news. I only began to know this incredible artist this past year and we engaged in conversation only on Instagram. Charma´s soul was in her work and I was consistently mesmerized by her posts. My heart goes out to her family.

I have chosen “student” because Charma was one of my most unique role models growing up. Back in Rapid City as a little girl, Charma would invite me over to her house. Just me. We would paint, play with her cats, cook weird food, talk about Scott behind his back, and eat fancy cookies. She was this vibrant, captivating, artistic woman who made me feel so very, very special. She dressed cooler than anyone I had ever met and when she laughed her whole face lit up. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. She always made me feel seen and heard, even at 8 years old. I’m so grateful to have had her when I was little. Deepest condolences to Scott and family and friends.

Charma, beautiful soul. Rest In Peace is not the right sentiment for you because you won’t ever rest. as always, you’re still soaring. Along with so, so many others, I loved you, even though you did everything better than me. I still do and always will. Fly high, beginner bird-see it all.

A beautiful tribute. In addition to all of her many accomplishments, Charma was the truest dearest friend; always there for those who were lucky enough to be in her life. I'll be cherishing my memories of her and we'll be walking by your side Scott. xoT

Charma was one of many Best Friends. She always had a kind word for and about everyone. She was passionate about issues she believed were right and also expressed her opinion. Her Heart was full of Love for Scott. She began a life of training, fun and accomplishment at Capital Dog Training Club of Washington,DC with her beloved French Bull Dog, Pi, then came Ernie. When Charma and Scott lost Pi to cancer, She was devastated. Ernie has issues and they decided to get a new Frenchie about 2 yrs ago. Welcome, Oddjie!
Charma immediately started training him and working with him in the conformation ring and for her first 2 shows ever Oddjie placed and received ‘Points’ towards an AKC championship. She was thrilled and proud and we were all so excited for her to have had that thrill and experience. When my husband passed away in Dec.2020, Charma would call and/or text me every day. She helped me start gathering items to dispose of in the house. I look around my home and see her every day. When I open my phone, her smiling picture is there. She brought joy to all who met her. Rest In Peace my Dear Friend ❤
