CHRISTOPHER JOHN SANGER (Age 67)
Passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 surrounded by loving family at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC.Born in Brooklyn, NY on June 27, 1951 to Charles and Margaret Sanger, Chris grew up in Forest Hills, NY and considered Washington, DC his home in recent years. He was an avid sports fan, and could challenge even the best of them in all types of sports trivia. He loved his rescue dog, Eddie, a good beach day, the Beatles, shrimp cocktail and a cold Coors Light. Chris will be remembered for his ability to befriend all he met, his quick wit, fierce loyalty and his engaging storytelling.Chris was predeceased by his cherished brother Kurt M. Sanger Sr. He leaves behind his longtime, loving companion Catherine M. O'Rourke of Washington, DC; his nephew Kurt M. Sanger Jr. of Gambrills, MD; his sister-in-law Ann Sanger Petrovits of Bradenton, FL, many close and beloved cousins and dear friends.A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church on Capitol Hill, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to City Dogs Rescue at citydogsrescuedc.org.

Katie, you took such great care of Chris for so many years. He was always in a good mood and so fun to be with! Peter and I feel so lucky we all spent Christmas together. He is no longer suffering and is with his beloved parents and brother Kurt. We love you.
