I knew Judge Collier when I worked for the District Court in Rockville. He was a pleasure to listen to and have a few laughs with. Before I retired he gave me a lands end bag with my name on it. I'm a much better person for knowing Judge Collier. He would always have a smile and a hello to you when he was at the court. Rest in Peace Judge Collier, you were loved by a lot of people but the lord has you now and will take very good care of you. Until we meet again. Miriam

I will always have the fondest memories of Judge Collier. He was a fine trial Judge and a caring person. When I was a young lawyer trying hard to obtain an acquittal of a somewhat troublesome client, Judge Collier made the memorable comment: Well, Mr. Allen...stealing from a thief is still theft. That day did not prove to be successful but he gave me many other trial victories over the years and I could always count on his intelligence, knowledge of the law, pragmatism, and compassion even if my case did not prevail. He will be sorely missed.

I was blessed that Ed Collier was my father-in-law. He and Ellen welcomed me into their family many, many years ago and opened their home and hearts to me. He was generous and supportive and will be very missed in his large and loving family.

I was saddened to learn of Judge Collier's passing. Early in my legal career as a District Court Law Clerk, he was already retired, but occasionally heard cases. It was a pleasure sitting in his chambers and hearing stories about his practice days and recommendations for mine. While on the bench, he was very fair and civil to all parties and their attorneys, but he also knew how to keep things moving along. Rest in Peace Your Honor,
Cheryl Price
