Constance L. Johnson Hipkins

February 14, 1935 – October 26, 2025
Constance "Connie" Hipkins passed away peacefully at home on October 26. She was a devoted mother, wife, friend and teacher at Woodridge Elementary School and Fort Lincoln Open Space School. Connie was adored for her warmth, patience, and dedication. With a heart full of love and a spirit that touched everyone she met, Connie lived her life with purpose, compassion, and grace. She was a devoted mother, wife, teacher, and friend whose kindness knew no bounds. Connie believed in the power of education, the importance of community, and the beauty of family. Her laughter, wisdom, and strength continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Though she has gone home to rest, her light shines on in the hearts and lives she so deeply enriched. Connie is survived by her children Chris, Colin (Sandy) and Paul Montgomery, Kenneth and Audrey Hipkins (Ray Williams), and Governor Reese; her daughter-in-law Carolyn Montgomery; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, at St. Paul's Rock Creek Episcopal Church, 100 Allison Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20011. Delta Sigma Theta - Omega Omega Service 10 a.m., Viewing 10:30 a.m., Funeral 11:15 a.m., Burial and Reception to follow at same location.
