PRATT

CYNTHIA PRATT "TIA" (Age 75)

Of Washington, DC, died on Friday, April 22, 2022, of acute leukemia. Cynthia was born to Elizabeth (Woodruff) Pratt and Robert W. Pratt III and raised in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. She graduated from Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island, and George Washington University in Washington, DC.

A Certified Association Executive, Tia applied her skills with the National Association of Social Workers, International Personnel Management Association, American Consulting Engineers Council, and Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. She retired in 2009.

She was also a passionate and committed volunteer, donating time and energy to Don't Tear It Down, Historic Mount Pleasant, Food & Friends, Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights & Urban Affairs, Mount Pleasant Village, and the Migrant Solidarity Team at All Souls Church Unitarian.

Tia was preceded in death by her brother Robert W. Pratt, Jr. and sister Imogene (Pratt) Luther. She in is survived by her husband of 38 years Lawrence D. Rickards, of Washington, DC; nieces Sarah Luther, of New York City; Cynthia S. Pratt, of Nelson, New Zealand; niece Carolyn Pratt, grand-niece Elizabeth Tumi Moloto, and grand-nephew Lucas Kwena Moloto, of South Africa; and heart-adopted son Kizito Obialom, of Washington, DC.

Known and loved by many, she is sorely missed.
